TEXARKANA, Texas -- A Texarkana man has been indicted in Bowie County on 40 counts of child pornography possession.

Jared Upchurch, 31, was arrested March 3, the same day officers with the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department searched his residence in the 6200 block of Gould Street, according to a probable cause affidavit. Investigators allegedly found images, including 32 videos and 10 photos, of girls in an application "masquerading as a calculator" on one of Upchurch's devices.

"Located within those videos and photographs were multiple videos and images that contained both pubescent and prepubescent females engaged in sex acts and lascivious activities," the affidavit states.

The investigation into Upchurch began in December with a lead from the Dallas Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children task force acting on information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Files containing known images of child pornography were allegedly linked to Upchurch's email and internet protocol addresses.

If convicted, Upchurch faces two to 10 years on each of the 40 counts. The case is assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell.

Upchurch is free on a $35,000 bond.
