TEXARKANA, Texas -- State Highway 93 (Summerhill Road) is getting a facelift.

Resurfacing of the thoroughfare is under way, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

"The project will stretch from U.S. Highway 67 to Interstate 30 and include the resurfacing of all four lanes," TxDOT engineer Tommy Bruce said. "Work is scheduled to take place nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. to minimize the impact on motorists and school traffic," Bruce added.

Motorists should expect lane closures during the nightly work, though one lane in each direction will remain open.

The project is expected to wrap up in July, weather permitting.

The city of Texarkana, Texas also will begin reconstructing a portion of Moores Lane from Richmond Road to Arista Boulevard today. The road will be closed to traffic for just over a week.
