Leaders of the book sale organized this week by Friends of the Atlanta Public Library have a direct message for the public.

"Come Saturday and get these books. Load them up. All you want. We don't want them," tells Fran Porter.

She's speaking of tables and boxes of books filling a basketball-sized court area.

"These are ones which have come to our library in this year only. We don't want to re-take them in again. They are to go out."

Currently, the public is going through the books from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday at the Mattie Lanier Richey Community Center, 101 Sportsplex Drive, Atlanta, Texas. On Saturday, the take away day will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
