Bradford wins prosecutor race; Cowling GOP pick for Little River judge

ASHDOWN, Ark. -- Jana Bradford will serve as the next prosecuting attorney for the Ninth West Judicial District, which includes the counties of Sevier, Little River, Howard and Pike.

Bradford received a total of 5,032 votes, or nearly 58 percent, across the four-county district, according to information from county clerk's office. Votes are complete but unofficial.

Her opponent, Mickey Buchanan, received a total of 3,707 votes.

The district prosecutor is elected to four-year terms in Arkansas. Bradford will begin at the start of 2023.

Larry Cowling won the Republican primary for Little River County Judge.

Cowling received 1,044 votes. His opponent Bearie "Butch" Lisenby received 894 votes. Cowling received just under 54 percent of the vote in the primary and will face the Democratic challenger, Elbert Bradley Jr., in the November general election.
