WITH POLL | Nash Elementary to hold blood drive Friday afternoon

NASH, Texas — LifeShare Blood Center will hold its annual blood drive at Nash Elementary School from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today.

Sonya Freeze, a science-technology teacher and student council adviser, said the school holds the drive every year to promote the importance of giving blood to students and community members.

“It doesn’t cost anything, and every unit of blood can save up to three lives,” Freeze said. “Giving blood actually helps your body, as well. So if you’re able to give, please consider giving.”

Freeze said Thursday morning there already were 35 appointments lined up for the drive.

Attendees can schedule an appointment or walk in to give blood. Appointments can be scheduled at donor.lifeshare.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule.
