De QUEEN, Ark. -- A man accused of killing his adult son and injuring another son has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Bail for Armando Arce, 66, of De Queen, has been set at $1 million, according to court records. The charges were formally filed in Sevier County Circuit Court last week.

De Queen Police Department officers were dispatched at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 to 223 Bobby Lane in reference to a double shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The men were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, but one of them died en route.

A manhunt for Arce began that evening, and he was apprehended near the residence less than 24 hours later.

The victims were identified as local residents Alexander Tom, 32, and John Tom, 34.

Alexander Tom's injuries were fatal. John Tom was treated at an area hospital and has since been discharged.

Arce pleaded not guilty during arraignment. His next court appearance is scheduled for March.

If convicted, Arce could face up to 40 years or life in prison for first-degree murder.
