TEXARKANA -- LifeShare Blood Center is asking area residents to continue giving the gift of blood as they spread the cheer this holiday season.
LifeShare Regional Director Elizabeth Cunningham said donations are especially important around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
"As you know, we have increased blood usage during the holidays and are asking for our community to respond and donate a head of time," Cunningham said.
To encourage donations, LifeShare is offering a $15 gift card toward a turkey or ham to people who give blood during the drive, which starts today and extends to Wednesday. Donors also will receive a "Be a Deer" shirt.
LifeShare is setting up 18 locations for donations.
