Hornets clash with Brahmas in district opener

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas -- Hooks aims to pick up some momentum after evening its season record a week ago with a shutout, and Paul Pewitt is seeking its first win as the teams open District 10-3A, Division II Play tonight at Brahma Stadium.

The Hornets (2-2) blanked Hawkins, 40-0, last week and are scoring 24.5 points per game while giving up 19 points on defense.

The Brahmas (0-3) won last year's meeting, 52-41. Paul Pewitt is scoring 41 points per game and allowing 51 points per game. Two of its losses were by four points, including last week's 60-56 setback to Troup.
