Habitat for Humanity of Texarkana needs volunteers. For more information, groups or individuals may e-mail [email protected] or cal 903-832-1746. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

HandsOn Senior Transportation Program needs drivers to transport older citizens to the doctor, dentist, grocery store and other necessary errands. Call Shanna at 903-798-3211.

Harvest Texarkana needs volunteers to sort donated food items anytime 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends can be scheduled for groups. Volunteers will also be needed later in the summer to help harvest fresh produce. Call 870-774-1398 or email [email protected]

The Healing Place is in need of a receptionist, someone to help clean and maintain the building, GED instructors. We are located at 1002 Ferguson Street. Heritage Plaza Nursing & Rehabilitation Center need volunteers to call Bingo, help with arts and crafts and paint fingernails. Call Roxanne Miller at 903-792-6700.

The HIP (Hope, Inspiration and Protection) Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program needs volunteers to serve as positive role models, friends, advocates and listeners for children between the ages of 4 and 18 who live in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas. Hospice of Texarkana, a non-profit agency, seeks friendly volunteers to visit patients at homes, facilities and in the Hospice Care Center. We also need office support, people who can crochet or knit, people to make calls or assemble marketing items. All volunteers receive training and will have a criminal history check, TB skin test and drug test that is paid for by the agency. Call the volunteer coordinator to learn more: (903) 794-4263.

Housing Authority of Texarkana, Texas, Neighborhood needs volunteers to teach free computer, resume writing, job preparation and other educational or certification classes. Computers, a Smartboard and necessary supplies will be provided for the free classes.
