FOUKE, Ark. -- The Fouke varsity girls basketball squad continued their early season hot streak Thursday night at home to remain unbeaten during their first eight games with a convincing 60-20 victory over Arkansas High.
The Lady Panthers (8-0) took control early behind their leading scorer Nailah Zetrenne, who posted 10 of her 15 game-high points in the first half, as the host team found themselves up by a comfortable 33-7 margin at halftime after their initial 14-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Rihanna Richards and Addison Girley connected on the only two buckets for Arkansas High (3-4) during the opening frame.
Treasure Martin nailed a three-pointer in the second quarter for the Lady Backs' lone score of the period before the Lady Panthers went on a 17-0 spurt to close out the final eight minutes in front of the intermission, with Kinley Smith hitting a pair of shots from long range as part of her 10 total points on the night.
The Lady Backs' best output came during the third quarter with 11 points, in which they executed three scores from beyond the arch on a combined effort from Martin and Jaela Coleman, as well as two free throws from Richards.
Nine different players for the Lady Panthers would go on to contribute points in the second half to aid in a 53-18 lead before ending the contest on a final 7-2 run.
Bella Monroe, Mallory Scoggins, and Kendall Hayworth all finished with six points for the Lady Panthers, while Chloe Wright and Laynie Richardson both added five points each.
