TEXARKANA, Texas -- Texarkana Museums System will present "Postcards from the Past" in Feb. 18 at the Ace of Clubs house.

Curator Jamie Simmons will deliver a presentation on the life of George Strong, the man seen in the iconic postcard "Man in Arkansas and His Ass in Texas."

A living history presentation will begin at 3:15 p.m. in front of the downtown federal building, the site of the original photograph used for the postcard. TMS volunteer Derrick Montgomery will portray Strong, who worked at the post office that used to be at the location.

"Postcards from the Past" is free to the public and is part of Texarkana's 150th anniversary celebration.

"This is a big year for Texarkana, and the Ace of Clubs House will be having many things planned to celebrate our sesquicentennial," Simmons said in a prepared statement.

The program is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Ace of Clubs, 420 Pine St.

Space at the lecture and performance will be limited, so reservations are encouraged.
