RISD recognizes campus and district teachers of the year

REDWATER, Texas -- Redwater Independent School District announced their district and campus teachers of the year.

The district teachers of the year are Jennifer Stacy of Redwater Intermediate School and Clint Edmonds of Redwater Junior High School.

Stacy is a fourth-grade math teacher with 16 years of educational experience, 12 being with RISD.

She is also a summer school coordinator and UIL coordinator.

Edmonds has been teaching science, technology and robotics for six years and additionally teaches robotics on the high school campus.

He also sponsors the high school's trap shooting team and serves as RHS' theater tech director and technical director for one-act plays for the junior high and the high school.

Terri Frazier is the teacher of the year for the Redwater Elementary campus and is a second-grade reading teacher with a 35-year career at RISD.

Redwater High School's teacher of the year is Janie Womack, who has been with the district for 21 years and teaches honors physics and principles of technology and chemistry for grades 10-12.

Womack has 42 years total of educational experience.

Stacy and Edmonds will move forward to be considered for Region 8's teacher of the year.
