TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Three Arkansas High School students are bound for the 43rd annual Arkansas Governor's School
Incoming seniors Sadie Coleman, Oliver Gholson and Chrinasia Solomon will attend the four-week residential program July 5 to Aug. 1 at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. The trio were nominated by AHS based on their academic record and creativity.
"Both inside and outside the classroom, AGS provides highly motivated, creative students with an intellectual atmosphere," the Governor's School said in a news release. "The excitement of intellectual and artistic pursuits and the expectation of significant conceptual gains permeate all aspects of the participants' lives for the full four weeks."
The Arkansas Legislature pays for the program through the state Department of Education. State funds provide tuition, room, board and instructional materials for each student.
