TEXARKANA, Texas -- Pleasant Grove Independent School is looking for a buyer for its former elementary school campus.

A large for-sale sign emblazoned with the PG logo faces traffic on the Richmond Road-side of the property.

Haley Turner, the district's director of communications and marketing, said bids likely will open in about a month.

The 12-plus-acre campus, which sits at Pleasant Grove and Richmond roads, was constructed in 1958 and renovated in 1996, Turner said. It served as the district's elementary school until November 2020, when students were moved to the newly built Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary on Galleria Oaks.

Since its closure, the Pleasant Grove Elementary School campus occasionally has been used as a training site for Texarkana Texas Police Department.
