TEXARKANA, Texas -- The local Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 278, will hold their fifth annual Chuck Wagons for Veterans fundraiser, with opening ceremonies starting at 11:15 a.m. March 11 at the Four States Fairgrounds.
The ceremonies will then be followed by meal servings, starting at 11:30 a.m.
With the fairground's gates opening at 10:30 a.m., and with a $15 per person admission price, patrons can eat all they can "until the food runs out," said chapter President Greg Beck.
As in years past, just like in the Old West, the meals will be cooked the "old fashion way," in cast iron pots, over open fires.
Besides the meals, the event will also include live music and a Corvette & Jeep Car Show, along with antique tractors and a live auction.
