TEXARKANA, Ark. -- U.S. House Rep. Bruce Westerman will visit Harvest Regional Food Bank on Tuesday.

"Westerman will tour the food bank facility to learn more about the food bank's hunger relief programs, and the impact of hunger on low-income residents in the surrounding area," according to a news release.

Westerman's visit comes as the food bank prepares to begin its annual Summer Feeding program, followed by After School Feeding programs in the fall.

Harvest also began construction earlier this year on an addition that will include a commercial kitchen and education center.

"The congressman's visit is encouraging to our staff and volunteers who work each day to fight hunger and serve those in need," CEO Camille Coker Wrinkle said.

Westerman represents Arkansas' 4th Congressional District, which includes Southwest Arkansas. He is scheduled to tour the food bank, 3120 E 19th St., from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
