LITTLE ROCK -- Two area cities are among five entities in Arkansas to receive a share of $1.078 million in loans from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture for water and wastewater projects.
Ogden in Little River County and Ozan in Hempstead County received approval for the funding Wednesday from the Natural Resources Commission, the Agriculture Department said in a news release.
Ozan will receive $149,221 from the Water Development Fund for a water treatment plant and tank improvements. The current customer base for this project is 127.
In Ogden, which has a customer base of 206, an $80,340 Water Development Fund loan will go to tank improvements.
The Natural Resources Commission also approved funding for Lisbon Public Water Authority in Union County and the cities of Menifee in Conway County and Taylor in Columbia County. The projects will serve more than 1,278 Arkansans.
