TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Arkansas High's baseball team jumped in the latest SBLive Super 7 Class 5A baseball rankings this week.

Arkansas High (7-1), which is now ranked No. 6 in the Class 5A poll, comes in behind Valley View, Little Rock Christian, Marion, Greene County Tech and Sheridan. Sylvan Hills rounds out the Super 7 team.

"Ty Waid leads the state in home runs with five," SBLive's website states. "He has also been walked seventeen times with thirteen of those being intentional walks. The righty slugger has the Razorbacks back in the rankings and looking to capture a conference title.

"Waid had an all-state year on the mound last season and looks to do so again this season."

The Razorbacks will be back in action on Thursday in the Joe T Robinson Invitational.

The Razorbacks will play North Little Rock at 2:30 p.m. at Joe T Robinson High School. On Friday, they will play Russellville at 7 p.m. at Pulaski Academy and again on Saturday against Conway at 5:15 p.m. back at Joe T Robinson High School.

"We'll challenge ourselves against some of the best teams in the state this week," Arkansas High head baseball coach Trent Wilson told the Gazette. "Our guys look forward to competing and continuing to get better as we prepare for a tough conference schedule after spring break."

Elsewhere in the Texarkana region:

Ashdown (5-5) is ranked No. 7 in Class 4A and were runners-up in Class 3A last season. The Panthers are currently tied with Nashville for the conference's top spot.

Horatio (8-5) sits in the No. 4 spot in Class 2A. The Lions defeated top-ranked Woodlawn this week.
