TEXARKANA, Texas-- After over three decades of serving delicious Chinese cuisine to the people of Texarkana, the iconic China Inn Restaurant has announced that it will be closing its doors permanently on Friday, March 31. The restaurant, which has been a beloved fixture of the local community, has been a go-to place for the community for both the Texas and Arkansas side residents.
The owner has operated this restaurant on Stateline Avenue next to Zip Car Wash for over 30 years.
The news of the restaurant's closure came as a shock to many in the community, who have expressed their sadness and gratitude for the many years of delicious food and wonderful memories that they have shared at China Inn. Much of the community has taken to social media to share their memories while others line up outside the restaurant to get their last meal.
"I think it is really sad actually that they are closing. I have fond memories of coming here as a child all the way to an adult. It's always been one of those places that have always been around in Texarkana that you never expected to close. They have a really good seafood noodle soup that I'm going to miss," customer Elizabeth Franco said.
The closure of China Inn Chinese Restaurant marks the end of an era for the Texarkana area and for many customers who have dined in here for years will continue to reflect on the many flavorful dishes the restaurant offered.
