TEXARKANA, Texas -- City Council members spent time during their Monday meeting preparing to vote on items slated for next month.

Council members spent just under and hour studying a proposed rezoning ordinance focusing on a 1.7-acre tract of agricultural land in the 4600 block of Rose Acres Road.

The land is being proposed for conversion into a multiple family housing area following a public hearing and vote on the matter at the council's April 10 meeting.

Another tract of land, slightly more than six acres in the 600 block of South Wake Village Road, is being considered for conversion from agricultural land to industrial use on that same date.

A third proposed rezoning ordinance, also targeted for an April 10 public hearing and council vote, involves rezoning a 22-acre tract of land in the 4000 block of Summerhill Road from single family real estate to a general retail location.

Final council action set for April 10 calls for approving proposed changes to the Perot Theatre's management proposed by the Perot Theatre Committee.
