Prescott woman and child killed when man driving wrong way on I-30 crashes into their vehicle

TEXARKANA, Ark. --A Prescott, Arkansas woman and a child were killed Tuesday when a car driving the wrong way on Interstate 30 crashed head on into their vehicle, according to a police report.

Jabrea Conway, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatality report. A male juvenile in Conway's vehicle was pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to the report.

Conway was a passenger in a 2017 Kia Optima that was eastbound on I-30. The accident happened at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the I-30 two mile marker, which is near the Four States Fairground exit.

A 2015 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane, according to the report. The Mustang collided with the front passenger side of the Kia Optima and came to rest in the roadway facing north, according to the report. The Optima came to rest in the median facing east.

The driver of the Mustang, Richard Lopez, 44, of San Antonio was taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the Kia Optima, Takyah Latin, 28, of Hope, Arkansas and two passengers, Jaquala Flowers, 28, of Hope and a female minor were also taken to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the accident.

The accident stopped traffic on I-30 for several hours, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation by Arkansas State Police Troop G.
