This year's United Way of Greater Texarkana Community Impact Grant applications are now available on United Way's website at www.texarkanaunitedway.org.

Simply go on the United Way of Greater Texarkana home page and scroll down the right hand of the page, to the "Community Impact" area and click. There you will find: "How to apply for funding." It's three easy steps this year. All applications must be completed and submitted online.

A mandatory meeting is required to make application for these funds. Please call the local United Way office at 903-794-3105 to reserve your organization a spot. There will be a valuable PowerPoint presentation by Molly Riley, United Way Vice President of Marketing and Fundraising. Applications will need to be completed and submitted on-line to United Way's web link by 5 p.m., April 3. Presentations by the agencies to the Community Impact Committee will be scheduled for July.

Some of the requirements for funding includes:

  • Applications will be accepted from 501(c)(3) organizations as well as other government, charitable or school-based organizations if the proposal aligns with UWGT's mission.
  • Programs must demonstrate need and benefit to UWGT's service area.
  • Programs must have measurable outcomes which are clearly defined and tracked for results.

Programs must align with at least one of UWGT's focus areas of education, income, and health and one or more of the target strategies.

United Way of Greater Texarkana Community Impact grants are how the orginization invests local dollars in our communities to address specific community centered issues.

Funding decisions are made locally through an annual competitive application process. Our community impact grants are invested in high performing nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services aligned with our three strategic priority areas of education, financial stability and health. Awardees help to improve community conditions across our regional footprint in zip codes located throughout nine counties, in the two states we serve: Bowie, Cass, Marion, Morris, Red River and Titus in Texas, and Lafayette, Little River & Miller in Arkansas.
