Fundraiser for slain family’s funeral expenses Sunday on New Boston Road

TEXARKANA, Texas -- The local Hispanic community is holding a fundraiser for the Olalde family from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Veros Latinos at 2108 New Boston Road.

Vendors will be selling street tacos, fruit cups, drinks and desserts. There also will be activities for children. All of the money raised will be donated to the Olalde family's funeral fund, according to organizers.

Reuben Olalde and Aida Garcia, along with daughter Lisbet Olalde and young son Oliver Olalde, were killed May 23 in their Nash, Texas, home.

Caeser Olalde, the 18-year-old son and brother, has been arrested and charged with capital murder of multiple people, according to a Bowie County arrest affidavit.

Diana Olalde, the the Olaldes' adult daughter, has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.
