Teen dies after gunfire at Stamps block party

STAMPS, Ark. -- One teenager is dead and another seriously injured after early-morning gunfire during a party Saturday.

Jaquarious D. Easter, 18, of Waldo, Arkansas, died in the shooting. A 16-year-old from East Camden, Arkansas, is being treated at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

About 1:24 a.m. Saturday, Lafayette County 911 received calls of gunshots at a block party on Second Street.

Stamps Police Department responded and learned that two gunshot victims had been transported to Magnolia Regional Medical Center in private vehicles.

Easter's body has been to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death.

Arkansas State Police is continuing the investigation.
