Former Oregon running back and Liberty-Eylau standout LaMichael James heads this year's class of inductees to the school's athletics Hall of Fame.

James, who was Oregon's first unanimous first-team All-American in football and the 2010 Doak Walker Award winner, is joined by 2012 national Player of the Year and two-time volleyball All-American Alaina Bergsma, five-time NCAA track and field champion English Gardner, track and field All-American Jordan Hasay, two-time softball All-American Jessica Moore and two-time All-American and NCAA champion Bruce Mortenson in the 32nd class of inductees. They combined for 35 All-America honors.

"The 2023 Hall of Fame class includes six true legends from the history of Oregon Athletics," Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens said in a statement. "They all have incredible legacies, and their prolific accomplishments made a significant positive impact on the University of Oregon. We are excited to recognize each of them with our highest athletic honor."

The 2023 honorees will formally join the Oregon athletics Hall of Fame, which originated in 1992 and includes 227 athletes and 30 teams, at a banquet in conjunction with the Oct. 21 football game against Washington State.
