ASHDOWN, Ark. -- Employees of Ashdown Public Schools were sent home for the holidays with heavier pockets.
During a regular board meeting on Friday, Nov. 13, the district's Board of Trustees voted on allocating funds to ensure each employee received $2,000 in bonus checks.
"All our staff work hard each and every day to put our students first and make sure they have what is needed to learn inside and outside of the classroom, so we were thrilled to be able to surprise all staff members with this unprecedented bonus just before Thanksgiving break," Superintendent Casey Nichols said.
