HOPE, Ark. -- Two Texarkana residents died Sunday in a vehicle accident on Interstate 30.

An Arkansas State Police preliminary fatality report identified the victims as Jerald Jones, 35, and Shundrekia Hill, 44. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A minor was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

At 10:15 p.m. Sunday, a 2017 Honda driven by Hill was traveling westbound on I-30 near the 17-mile marker when it attempted to pass an 18-wheeler in the left lane.

Hill allegedly lost control of the vehicle and struck the truck's trailer. The Honda became hung under the trailer and was struck on the passenger side by a second 18-wheeler.

No one in the 18-wheelers was injured.
