TEXARKANA, Texas -- A person who attempted to rob a home improvement store Thursday reportedly bit an employee during his getaway.

Officers with Texarkana Texas Police Department were dispatched to Lowe's about 8:50 p.m. regarding a robbery that had just occurred.

"A black male suspect entered Lowe's and attempted to steal a bag of money from a store employee," said Sgt. Kim Weaver, police spokesperson.

As the male attempted to take the money from the female employee, other employees stepped in to prevent the theft.

"He threw and pushed two employees to the ground and bit a third employee," Weaver said.

The three employees reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The male left the store without any money. He is believed to have fled in a white vehicle.

Weaver said investigators do not have an approximate age for the attempted robber.

Police are continuing to investigate "to obtain further information in identifying the suspect," Weaver said.
