TEXARKANA, Texas -- Texas High's volleyball team swept Pine Tree at home Friday night.
It took an extra point to win the first set 26-24. In sets two and three, the Lady Tigers won, 25-16-25-22, respectively.
Senior setter Cy Hopkins led the way for the Tigers with 10 kills, 14 assists, 10 digs and 14 points. Fellow senior Mally Lumpkin tacked on 13 kills and 11 points. Middle blocker Taryne Stiger had 16 points and seven kills.
In JV action, Texas High also swept Pine Tree, 25-16-25-21. The Lady Tigers were led by Zanasia Nelson with 12 points.
Pine Tree took the freshman match 25-19, 25-11. Texas High freshmen Kynlee Henderson and Karis Lloyd had six points each.
Texas High (24-6, 2-1) will host Marshall in district play on Tuesday at the Tiger Center.
