HOPE, Ark. -- Three University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana students recently made a one-of-a-kind donation to the community.

Spring Hill High School students Gavin Smith and Micah Hardee and Wesley Almand, of Nevada High School, created a bicycle rack in their welding course and donated it to Hope Connexion Outreach Center. The center works with homeless people.

Smith, Hardee and Almand attend the university's Career & Technical Education Center.

"These students did a fantastic job fabricating the bike rack," UAHT welding instructor Eddie Thomas said.

Adam Perry, president of the Hope Connexion board, said the racks "will allow our visitors to safely park and lock their bikes while visiting the center."
