Thirty Liberty-Eylau choir members bound for state competition

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Members of the Liberty-Eylau High School Choir are receiving accolades for their recent performances at Region IV UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on Feb. 3 in Marshall, Texas.

Choir instructor Sherri Pickering said the singers garnered 30 superior and seven excellent ratings.

The students who received superior ratings will go to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble competition in May.

Students receiving superior ratings were Abria Allison, Kai'Rihanna Avery, J'Shun Beed, Jacob Berry, Secundino Cortez, William Day, Rashad Ganter, Omarjuarian Hayden, Kyvory Houff, Tianna Kennedy, Noah Massey, Hunter Rose, Rebecca Plattner and Sammie Shields. The following students received a superior rating on their ensemble: Abria Allison, Emoni Anderson, Kai'Rihanna Avery, Tressie Richardson, Marie Robinson, Jonathan Brewer, William Day, Hunter Rose, Secundino Cortez, Noah Massey, J'Shun Beed, Loretta Ogden, Sammie Shields, Rayven Benton, Tianna Kennedy and Rashad Ganter.

Excellent ratings were awarded to Emoni Anderson, Rayven Benton, Jonathan Brewer, Shatarah McGee, Loretta Ogden, Deangelo Westley and Judith Phillips.
