Nashville School District virus cases decrease to under five

NASHVILLE, Ark.: A number of employees in the Nashville School District have tested positive for COVID-19 but the numbers have decreased in recent days, according to an Arkansas Department of Health report.

Nashville School District did not appear on the Arkansas Department of Health's occupational cluster report released Monday.

"These reports only show a business or school district if there are more than five positive cases," said Gavin Lesnick, spokesman for ADH.

Lesnick said the district appeared in the occupational cluster report previously because it had more than five cases.

"Being off the list means they have between 0 and five cases now. They may have recoveries," Lesnick said.

Nashville School District Superintendent Doug Graham told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in an email that 8 employees had tested positive for COVID- 19 on Thursday and two, including himself, had been hospitalized.

Most of those who tested positive had been to a workshop on June 17, Graham said in the email.
