New COVID-19 death reported in Miller County

Miller County, Arkansas, reported one death because of COVID-19 from Thursday to Monday, bringing the total to 13, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

The county's confirmed active coronavirus cases increased by 16, from 148 to 164, with 1,067 cumulative cases and 890 recoveries, according to ADH.

Elsewhere in Southwest Arkansas, Lafayette County's case count rose from 133 to 139, Nevada County's from 243 to 252, Little River County's from 376 to 387, Hempstead County's from 449 to 501 and Sevier County's from 1,208 to 1,216. ADH adjusted Pike County's count downward from 246 to 245.

Bowie County, Texas' estimated number of active cases increased Thursday to Monday by 33, from 410 to 443, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The county has recorded 1,653 total cases, with 1,148 recoveries and 75 deaths, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center.

In Northeast Texas, Red River County's tally rose from 176 to 181, Morris County's from 199 to 201, Cass County's from 445 to 461 and Titus County's from 1,519 to 1,527, according to TDSHS.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 192 cases Thursday to Monday, reaching a total of 9,670, according to the Louisiana Department of Health. Bossier Parish added 148 cases to reach 3,909.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 93,790 total confirmed cases and 1,714 deaths. Louisiana reported 175,982 cases and 5,566 deaths, and Texas reported 825,673 cases and 17,022 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 8,128,524 total cases in the U.S. so far, with a national death toll of 218,986.
