Twelve debutantes dressed in traditional gowns and carrying bouquets of red roses were presented to society by the Cotillion Club on Dec. 28 at Texarkana Country Club. Fred Norton, Jr., master of ceremonies, introduced each young lady as she stepped from the dais. Vicki Carr and Andrea Finley played the chosen debut song for each young lady as she and her escort circled the room.

The debutantes for the 2018 season were introduced at a tea in May and have been honored with parties during the summer as well as the Christmas holiday. This season was coordinated by Miss Blaire Barlow.

Anna Catherine Boudreaux is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Boudreaux of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Hamel of West Monroe, La., and Wilma Boudreaux and the late Tom Boudreaux of Covington, La.

Anna Catherine attends the University of Mississippi,where she is a junior majoring in Exercise Science with plans to attend physician assistant school. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Ark. She is a member of Gamma Beta Phi and Sigma Alpha Lambda honor societies. She is the assistant new member educator of the Tau Chapter of Chi Omega. She is also an Oxford Elementary Leapfrog volunteer, as well as a volunteer for Make a Wish, Chi Omega's national philanthropy. Anna Catherine has spent her last 13 summers attending Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian camp in Hunt, Texas. This past summer she was named a Big 3 and held the position of activities coordinator. She chose "Here Comes the Sun" as her presentation song,. Anna Catherine was presented by her father and escorted by Walker Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Thomas of McDonough, Ga. She selected an Amsale Nouvelle "Celeste" gown. The luminous Mikado spaghetti strap gown showcases sleek modern seaming on the bodice and is finished with a trail of dainty rouleau buttons starting at the back and continuing down the entire train of the gown.

 

Elizabeth Ann Dowd is the daughter of Chad and Melanie Dowd of Texarkana, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Jo and the late Jim Yancey of Ponce Inlet, Fla and Margaret and the late Wayne Dowd of Texarkana, Ark.

Beth Ann is a sophomore at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business. She is a member of Delta Gamma, where she was a recruitment group manager. Beth Ann is also enrolled in the Fulbright Honors College where she was on the Chancellor's List. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. In addition to volunteering for her sorority philanthropy, Service for Sight, Beth Ann also volunteers independently at Beautiful Lives Boutique in Fayetteville. Beth Ann chose the song, "Hold My Hand" as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by her brother, Walker Wayne Dowd. Beth Ann chose a gown from the Allure Romance collection. It is an a-line ballgown featuring organza ruffles and delicate lace cap sleeves. The front and back feature illusion netting and vintage inspired appliques.

 

Grace Caroline Hickey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hickey of Texarkana, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Freeman and the late Russell Freeman and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hickey of Texarkana, Ark.

Grace attends Texas State University and is enrolled in the Honors College, where she is a sophomore majoring in Theatre and Acting. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and serves as social media chair. She volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House in San Antonio, Texas, to support Ronald McDonald House Charities, her sorority's national philanthropy focus. She attends Young Life and hosts a Bible study for collegiate women. Grace is on the Dean's List and a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She was presented by her father and escorted by Matthew Francis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Francis of Texarkana, Texas. She chose "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" as her presentation song. She chose an elegant silk Mikado ball gown with off-the-shoulder cap sleeves. The romantic neckline accentuates the bodice with an encrusted beaded belt. Miss Hickey's dress was designed by Sherri Hill.

 

Emily Ann McMillan is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Christopher McMillan of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald McMillan of Texarkana, Texas and Dee Lynn and the late Joseph J. Aguilar Jr. of Fort Worth,

Texas. Emily Ann is a sophomore at Austin College, where she is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Music. She is the recipient of both the Dean and the Alumni Association Scholarships. She is a member of the A Cappella Collegiate Choir, Delta Omicron Music Fraternity and the Catholic Student Association. She enjoys volunteer work, and will spend a January term studying abroad. She is a member of Sacred Heart and Williams Memorial United Methodist churches. She was presented by her father and escorted by her brother, Patrick McMillan. She chose "Stand By Me" as her presentation song. Emily Ann selected a Kenneth Winston designer gown from the Private Label by Ginza Collection. The sleeveless A-line organza and alecon lace gown features a pleated satin cummerbund and a scooped illusion neckline with scalloped and beaded lace featuring sequins, rocals and pearls.

 

Linley Carroll Murdock is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Brad Murdock of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hearn of New Boston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Murdock of Texarkana, Texas.

Linley attends Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where she is a sophomore enrolled in the Neely School of Business. She is majoring in Accounting and minoring in Energy Technology and Management. Linley is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority which allows her the opportunity to volunteer with Cook's Children's Hospital and St. Jude's, her sorority's national philanthropy. Linley chose "Let It Be," as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by Slyder Glenn Welch, son of Kimberly Humphrey and Justin Welch of Texarkana, Texas. Linley's gown was designed by Madeline Gardner for Morilee. It features a plunging v- neck and open v-back with illusion insets along each side of the bodice. This stunning flounced organza ball gown incorporates a wide horsehair edging that trims the train of the gown.

 

Mary Claire Paddock is the daughter of Christy Paddock and Brady Paddock. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Daines of Texarkana, Texas, Shuggie Ward of Hot Springs, Ark., the late Dr. William Rowan Patterson Jr, and the late Ben L. Paddock.

Miss Paddock attends the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she is a sophomore enrolled in the Sam Walton College of Business and is majoring in Accounting. She has earned a position on the Chancellor's List each semester for achieving a 4.0 grade point average. Mary Claire is a member of the Psi Chapter of the Chi Omega Sorority and is involved in both volunteering and fundraising for the Make A Wish Foundation, the sorority's national philanthropy. Miss Paddock chose "All I Ask of You," composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by her cousin, William Jarrett Patterson. Mary Claire selected a Vera Wang strapless taffeta gown with an asymmetrically draped bodice, scooped neckline, and full ball gown tulle skirt.

 

Cathryn Grace Payne is the daughter of Drs. Christina and Todd Payne of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Payne of Texarkana, Ark., and Beverly Quallen Adler of Texarkana, Texas.

Cathryn Grace attends Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a sophomore enrolled in the Farmer School of Business and is majoring in Accounting. She is a member of Kappa Delta sorority, through which she enjoys volunteering for Prevent Child Abuse America. She is also a member of First Baptist Church, Texarkana. She chose "Somewhere in the World" for her presentation song. Cathryn Grace was presented by her father and escorted by her brother, Davis Harrison Payne. She selected a gown designed by Alvina Valenta for Ti Adora. The dress is made in a strapless a-line style with a fine tulle overlay. The bodice has a sweetheart neckline and is embellished with a floral appliqué which extends down onto the full skirt.

 

Lauren Elizabeth Potter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Potter of Texarkana, Ark. Lauren is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Potter of Texarkana, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Powell of Texarkana, Ark., Margaret McRaney of Texarkana, Ark., and the late James Williams of Texarkana, Ark.

Lauren attends the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she is a sophomore enrolled in the J. Williams Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. She is majoring in Biology and Psychology and minoring in Chemistry with a focus in Pre-Medical studies. She is a member of the Psi chapter of the Chi Omega Fraternity where she participates on their philanthropy committee supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-South. Lauren is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and a Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donor. Lauren chose "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as her presentation song. Lauren was presented by her father and escorted by her brother, William Taylor Potter. Lauren selected a David's Bridal Collection ivory satin ball gown featuring a plunging V-neckline, a low back with wide-set straps and a pleated cummerbund waistband.

Marjorie Beth Slimer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Slimer of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Bobby Dowd and the late Marjorie Putman Dowd of Texarkana, Texas, and of Sue Dowd of Texarkana, Texas, and the late Edward Utz and Sarah Utz of Texarkana, Texas.

She attended Texas Christian University her freshman year, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority but decided to follow her passion for cooking, and is now studying Culinary Arts at Texarkana College. She is the President of the Culinary Arts club. Marjorie chose "Wonderful Tonight" as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by Walker Allen Lambert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lambert of Texarkana, Texas. Marjorie chose an elegant sleeveless marcella satin A-Line gown that features a crystal beaded sheer back and waistline. The deep V neck accentuates the bodice with an embellished beaded belt with crystals. The long train showcases a trail of satin covered buttons that trim out the back of the gown. Marjorie's gown was designed by by Madeline Gardner for MoriLee from Traditions Bridal.

 

Baylee Elizabeth Swanson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Swanson of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Rhonda Hamilton of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Farris of Newcastle, Okla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Swanson.

Miss Swanson attends the University of Mississippi, where she is a Provost Scholar sophomore enrolled in the Patterson School of Accountancy and is majoring in Accounting with a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Chi Omega fraternity, where she serves on the sisterhood support team which helps educate and mentor new members. She also serves as an elected senator, representing the Patterson School of Accountancy for the Associated Student Body. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and a member of the First Baptist Church of Texarkana. Baylee volunteers with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, her sorority's national philanthropy. She chose "She" as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by her brother, Wesley Hunter Swanson. Baylee selected an Allure gown from the Couture Collection with sheer chiffon stripes that create a tiered effect along the skirt of this lace ballgown. The gown features a sweetheart neckline and a pearl and rhinestone belt, as well as a tuck and drape train.

Leighton Eileen Weber is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weber of Texarkana, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. George Weber and the late George Weber of Wellesley, Mass., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Markham.

Leighton attends Texas Christian University, where she is a sophomore enrolled in the Neeley School of Business and is a Founders Scholar. She was named to the TCU Scholars List for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was named Most Dedicated New Member for 2017. She has also been named Vice President of Finance for 2019. She volunteers at Hubbard Heights Elementary School to promote Read, Lead, Achieve, her sorority's national philanthropy. She is also the Dancer Relations Chairman for the TCU Dance Marathon benefiting Cook Children's Miracle Network Hospital in Fort Worth. She is a member of Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key International Honour Society and the Junior Clark Society. She chose "Edelweiss" as her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by James Douglas Williamson, son of Mrs. George Tullis of Texarkana, Texas, and Charles Williamson of Longview, Texas. For her debut, She selected a stunning gown by Vera Wang from the Couture Collection. The silk faille A-line gown was designed with a strapless notched neckline and featured covered buttons down the back of the gown. Leighton paired her gown with a silver handcrafted Swarovski beaded belt.

 

Ellen Elizabeth Womack is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Sean Womack, of Texarkana, Texas, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Unger of Texarkana, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leighton of Bastrop, Texas.

Ellen attends Texas A&M University at College Station where she is a sophomore enrolled in Mays Business School, with a focus on Marketing and Communications. She is also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority where she serves as the Songfest Chair. She is a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. Ellen chose "What a Wonderful World" for her presentation song. She was presented by her father and escorted by Connor Lance Court, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lance Court of Texarkana, Texas. Ellen selected an ivory Fit and Flare gown which features a single shoulder strap and is embellished with bead lace appliques throughout the bodice and skirt.
