Live music at Fat Jack's Oyster and Sports Bar in Texarkana continues with an acoustic gig Saturday night, courtesy of three sisters who make up the Waxahachie, Texas-based Calamity Janes. The country trio see themselves as sassy singer-songwriters, consisting of Arwyn Childs on vocals and guitar, Alyssa Yancey on vocals and bass and Courtney Childs on vocals and percussion. They count acts as diverse as Willie Nelson and Sublime as influences, and along the way they've earned rave reviews and awards for their original music. You can see them starting around 8:30 p.m.

"When we play acoustic shows you can really hear the harmonies and how we sing together so easily. We really like to sing everything, but classic country and classic rock are the most fun for us. We started out singing in church together. Then once we had all moved off and then come back together we decided that we should really put effort into making music together and thus the Calamity Janes were born. Since we are sisters we do have tons of fun on stage. We're always telling stories of the good times we've shared on the road and throughout this life," says Alyssa.
