The popularity of "The Masked Singer" has prompted Fox to join forces with Ellen DeGeneres for "The Masked Dancer."

The network announced the new format on Tuesday.

"This is gonna be just as fun and suspenseful as 'The Masked Singer,' but with a lot more Krumping," DeGeneres said in a statement. "And I cannot wait!"

Celebrities will dance in elaborate costumes. DeGeneres introduced the format on her daytime talk show. She enlisted Sean Hayes, Derek Hough and "Masked Singer" panelist Ken Jeong to guess.

"The Masked Singer" was introduced in January 2019 and became a huge hit. Rapper T-Pain won the first season.

Playing the Fox, Orlando entertainer Wayne Brady won season two, which concluded last month. The runner-up was Chris Daughtry as the Rottweiler. Finishing third was Adrienne Bailon Houghton as the Flamingo.

Season three will start after the Super Bowl on Feb. 2. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx will be a guest panelist on the premiere. The show then shifts to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Feb. 5.

Eighteen celebrities will be split into three groups. Each group will be reduced to three, then the final nine compete for the title.

The new season will feature the Robot, the Frog, the Banana, the Mouse, Miss Monster and the Llama, Fox said.

The hopefuls for season three "have amassed a combined 69 Grammy Award nominations, 88 Gold records, 11 Super Bowl appearances, three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, more than 160 tattoos and one title in the Guinness Book of World Records," Fox said.

"The Masked Singer" will be followed by the new competition series "Lego Masters" at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Feb. 5.

Host Will Arnett will welcome celebrity guests Mayim Bialik, Terry Crews, Nicole Byer and "Lego Movie" writers and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
