Las Amigas Club introduces 2019 debutantes

The Las Amigas Social and Civic Club presented their 46th Annual Debutante Ball on Friday, Dec. 27 at the Texarkana Convention Center in Texarkana, Texas. Twenty-one young ladies accompanied by their escorts were presented to society in the presence of their families and guests.

Greetings were extended by Lillie Young, club president. Karen Brown, Barbara Larry and Dr. Sandra Dodd-Young introduced each young lady as they made their debut. The 2019 debutantes were introduced at a reception in August and have been honored at a variety of social activities during the debutante season. Cassandra Rhone served as this year's chairperson for presentation and Barbara Larry served as general chairperson for the debutante season.

 

Fortunate Barry is the 18-year-old daughter of Mondo and Tia Barry of Texarkana, Arkansas. Fortunate is the granddaughter of Ernest and Gloria Houff of Texarkana, Arkansas and the late Kanza Roberts of Texarkana, Arkansas. She was presented by her father.

Fortunate is a senior at Arkansas High School where she is a member of the varsity volleyball team, co-captain of the varsity basketball team, varsity cheer and competition squad, vice-president of Future Business Leaders of America, Youth 2 leaders, Pride Academy, Today's Youth Tomorrow's Leaders and Kool Kids
