Claudia and Pete Snow are Texarkana natives and their roots run deep as their families are ingrained in our community. Claudia's family owned and operated Langdon Oxygen Company for over 40 years when they sold the business. Not ones to sit still, and having owned investment properties for over 25 years, real estate was the logical next step. Jared Horton's background is in construction and architecture and this translates to a knowledgeable broker and ally for the buyer and seller and enables him to better guide the agents in these areas. "It makes a world of difference of having that experience in the real estate business," says Jared.
The trio agreed that the pandemic has transformed the housing market, including what people want and need. Claudia said they initially thought sales would slow down, but Realtors were considered essential and the attractive and historically low interest rates coupled with people spending more time at home has been good for the realty business. Pete adds that COVID-19 has made the public rethink where they live and work and what they need in their home-maybe more space, a home office, perhaps room for the children to play and do online school.
The number of homes on the market is low and home sales prices are going at an all-time high plus homes are not staying on the market very long, oftentimes only a few days with multiple offers. However, you really need a realtor to guide you through this process so that you position your home for a quick sale. Too often people try to sell their home themselves and find that the offers don't go to close because of not having that assistance and direction of a professional realtor, said Claudia.
