Linda Hughey and others paint Christmas tree ornaments mid-December at the Collins Senior Center at 3000 Texas Boulevard in Texarkana, Texas. Shabree Goss from Colonial Lodge brought paint and supplies so participants could express their own creativity. The Center is adjacent to Ferguson Park, and it provides social and recreational activities for seniors. A variety of activities are offered, including armchair aerobics, beginner bridge classes, bingo, day trips, decorative art class, dominoes, line dancing, quilting and evening socials. No membership is required, and most activities are free. Activity calendars can be picked up at the center or mailed if requested by telephone at 903-793-5545.
