HER | Best spring cleaning tips?: A little bit each day goes a long way

It is that time of year when the flowers bloom and the pollen levels are high, which means it is time for spring cleaning.

Oh, how exciting it is to open all the doors and let the sunshine in.

To dust the baseboards, organize the kitchen and generally put some order back into a household now escaping winter's siege.

While a major overhaul may excite some people, there is a group of people who are looking to get spring cleaning done WITHOUT THE HASSLE.

So where would someone find the best spring-cleaning tips? Google, for sure. But, dig deeper. Where would someone find fool proof cleaning tips from experienced people and learn how to keep a house neat and clean all year long?

Moms and grandmas are amazing at maintaining a home, job, extracurricular activities with the children and spring cleaning. Here's what a few local "experts" have to say:

Kwana "KeKe"

Easter is a director of sales and marketing for a local nursing facility. She has two children and one grandchild.

Tip No 1:

Do a quick tidy every day. "My 6-year-old son and I do a 10-minute tidy every night before bed."

Tip No. 2:

Get rid of excess stuff. "We clean out closets and donate the excess items we do not use anymore. We get it done before spring break so we don't have to do it when we could be having fun."

Sheila West is a local nurse practitioner and mom of three:

Tip No. 1:

Do a little every day. "I do laundry every day. I may or may not have turned on the dryer 2 or 3 times before I put them away, but they are clean," she said.

Tip No. 2:

Do one area at a time. "I open all the windows, put on some music and start in one area. Closets-done. Bedrooms- done. Nothing beats a clean house."

Anita Hicks is the owner and operator of Frumpy to Fabulous Furnishings. She has one daughter and two grandchildren.

Tip No. 1:

Limit yourself to complete a task for a short time frame. "Set an alarm for 15 minutes. If you break tasks into small pieces, you can perform them when you have a 'few minutes.'"

Tip No. 2:

Take one room at a time. "I remove everything in the room except for furniture. I also take time to decide if I need new décor to change the look of the room."
