Too Young? | Should voting age be lowered to 16?

T

his week we marked the anniversary of the voting age being lowered to 18 for Americans.

Now there is a push in the country to lower the age again - to 16.

Some countries already have 16 as the voting age. And some states allow those as young as 17 to vote in party primaries. Proponents say that the 16-year-olds can work, pay taxes and drive. And that they have enough maturity to make such an important decison. Also, they argue, the earlier the voting habit begins, the more likely it is to continue through life.

Opponents disagree and say that, at 16, most do not have the life experience to choose our nation's leaders.

We want to know what you think. Should the voting age be lowered to 16? Or should it stay at 18?

Last Week: Economic Outlook?

Last week's question was about the country's economic future. Are you feeling more confident about the state of the economy? Or do you think things will get worse before any true turnaround?

We didn't add 4.8 million jobs, 4.8 million people went back to the jobs we already had.

Economy looks great. I had record month last month in sales and every customer and company I deal with are very busy some have more than they can keep up with.

It will take at least a year to recover from the COVID recession.

Predicting what the economy will look like in a month or two is a fool's mission. The stock market is not the economy, except for the top 10%, who depend on the bottom 90% to keep the money flowing upward. Medicare for All.

Worse and turn around. We need to help each other and our neighbors during this time. Some people's businesses will soar due to this pandemic however.

Mixed feelings.
