IN YOUR VIEW | Mask or No Mask? Does delta variant surge make you more likely to opt for face covering?

With the COVID-19 delta variant surging across Arkansas and Texas, some have suggested that wearing face masks in public would still be wise, especially for those who have not been vaccinated.

Indeed, some states are mulling a return to a mask mandate. That's unlikely here since Texas Gov. Greg Abbott shot down the idea on Wednesday and a new law means the state legislature in Arkansas would have to approve such a move. So it would have to be voluntary in the Twin Cities.

We want to know what you think. Do you still wear a face mask in public or has the spread of the delta variant made you more likely to wear a mask? Or do you have no plans to wear a mask?

Last Week: Pot Proposal?

Last week's question was about proposed federal legislation that would remove marijuana from the list of controlled substances and let states decide whether or not it should be legal, like alcohol is now. Do you support legislation to have the U.S. government treat and tax marijuana like alcohol? Or should it remain illegal on the federal level?

Definitely, federal law should control marijuana like alcohol. Tax pot like alcohol and get some revenue from it. Pot is no worse then alcohol, so stop the madness with different states with different rules. - R.K., Texarkana, Texas

It should be legal and taxed by the state. Then all the proper research that should have been done years ago for its beneficial and detrimental properties should be fast tracked. Alcohol has ruined more lives than marijuana. - B.G.M., Hooks, Texas

It's a drug, and should be treated as a drug tax free. Alcohol isn't a drug and falls under the sin tax.

Washington state taxes, no here even notices unless they get a receipt.

It should be completely legal and those in jail for marijuana based offenses should be released!

Let people grow weed don't need government taxing the hell out of us

Weed needs to stay banned

50 years too late! But yes cannabis should be legal

Legalize and tax. Allow people to grow for their own use. The War on Drugs is a total failure on all levels.

Yes: may cause a recession taking drug money out of circulation.

Legalize it now

While I don't agree with anyone showing up to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol, I believe it's time to decriminalize all drugs an let people reap the benefits.

Tax it

All it's going to do is step on the street dealers profit margin

Legalize marijuana!!

Legalize it and tax it with law enforcement get 10% help fight any crimes associated with it.and 10% help people quit.

Always for decriminalization, legalization, AND completely expunged records of marijuana charges for those with it on record and still incarcerated for it. Alcohol is more dangerous than marijuana but we treat drunks better.
