TO THE EDITOR:
It's just so disheartening to hear the gibberish from anti maskers and hoax and conspiracy theorists. Ignorance and selfishness is a true pandemic. These are the people making COVID flourish.
They scream about being pro-life yet won't make the simple effort to wear a mask to keep others from getting sick and dying. It is absolutely no infringement on their freedom. They adhere to other government safety requirements multiple times in their daily lives. They squawk and bellow and never have any facts to back up their delusional thinking. Facts to them mean nothing. They deny any reporting by any reputable agency or media outlet. They live in a world of delusions and fear. I truly believe these people suffer from a diagnosable mental illness and it's destroying our country and killing its citizens.
I know many people personally who have had the COVID virus. I know those that have had no symptoms and tested positive, those that had relatively mild symptoms and were able to recover at home, those that were hospitalized and recovered, those that were in the hospital on a ventilator and three that have died. I have no time or patience for those who deny facts. If you've never had COVID touch your little world, then that's where you need to stay. Stay in your little world away from decent people who are trying to stay alive and who are trying to protect others. When I see someone without a mask, I see a potential attempted murderer. The virus isn't the only thing that needs to die out. So does willful ignorance, selfishness and greed.
