IN YOUR VIEW | Gather or Not?: What will your family do this Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is next week and that means we all have a decision to make: Celebrate with family or follow advice from health officials and government officials to forgo large gatherings this year because of COVID-19 concerns.

Thursday in this space we urged readers to carefully consider the choice they make. But we also acknowledged the lure of tradition might be too strong to resist.

What about you and your family? Will you be celebrating as usual this year? Or are you planning to skip the traditional family gathering or make some other adjustment because of the virus?

Send your response (50 words maximum) to [email protected] by Wednesday, November 25. You can also mail your response to the Texarkana Gazette Friday Poll, at P.O. Box 621, Texarkana, TX 75504 or drop it off at our office, 101 E. Broad St, Texarkana, Ark. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number. We will print as many responses as we can in next Friday's paper.

Last Week: Thankful?

With Thanksgiving approaching, last week's question was about gratitude, despite a troubling year. What you are thankful for this year.

At the moment, thankful for family still healthy, even though we will not be spending the holidays together this year. Also, thankful that our country will be able to start to get back to normal starting Jan 20, 2021 Thank you lord for hearing my prayers! Peace on earth and goodwill to all! - R.K., Texarkana, Texas

I am thankful for the family I has left, the roof over my head, and my job.
