IN YOUR VIEW | Restricting Access: Are you worried about new gun control proposals? Or are you in favor?

President Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats have vowed to strengthen gun control laws in the wake of he recent deadly mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder.

Among the ideas under consideration are requiring background checks for gun show and online sales and closing a loophole by extending the window for background check results from 3 days to 10 days. These have both passed the House and are waiting for a Senate vote.

Another ban on so-called "assault weapons" along with high-capacity magazines is on the table. And many are calling for background checks before the purchase of kits or parts that can be used to assemble "ghost guns," homemade weapons without serial numbers.

We want to know what you think? Are you worried new gun control laws will be implemented and limit your right to buy and own firearms? Or are you in favor of more restrictions?

Last Week: Tax the Rich?

Last week's question was about President Joe Biden's plans to increase taxes on wealthy individuals, families and corporations. Do you support tax reform that puts more of the burden on high-earning individuals and corporations and eliminates breaks that reduce their taxes? Or are you against the idea?

Nope I am NOT for the tax increase Burden and the Democrats are attempting to pass Any increase in the taxes of corporations results in higher prices for everyone and lost jobs. Washington has shown repeatedly that they are NOT good stewards of our tax dollars! Way too much wasteful spending! The people are not taxed too much, the government spends too much! - A.B., Texarkana, Texas

I'd never be against taxing people that have that much disposable income to begin with. This was already implemented by Roosevelt and it was a stricter tax on the highest income.

Absolutely tax the rich.

NO taxes should be raised!

He keeps saying 400k a year but the press secretary said Biden meant 400k per family, not per person.

Tax the rich to help fund #Medicare4All, claw back trump's tax cuts for the rich, and reduce wealth inequality.

Why would ANYBODY ANYWHERE EVER be against proportionally taxing the obscenely wealthy? Like, we pay more taxes than Jeff Bezos, why is the idea of that troglodyte being taxed sooooo antithetical to Bobby Joe Dean IV from podunk county with the lowest income and education rates in the country? Lawd make it make sense lol

Poor man never signed my paycheck. You tax the rich job growth, and tax revenue will actually go down. Taking away opportunities to increase the job availability and increasing lower paying part time jobs. Business are in business to make money. You take money away from them they will get it back. The prices of goods or services goes up, and downsizing of work force will happen.

Instead of continuing to tax us to death, the bloat in DC needs to be drastically cut. Government has gotten way too large and has way too much useless, wasteful spending. No one should be depending on the government to solve problems. Everything they touch costs too much and takes longer.

People need to use common sense and learn how trickle down economics work. If you raise taxes for ANYONE, in the end it is always the ones in the lower income bracket that pays the most. Their income doesn't go up but their cost of living does.

After we stop sending our tax dollars outside the country.

Wow. What is fairness? Would a flat tax be fair? People type tax the rich, like that is going to work. What is rich? You with a business or you that works long hours. What of those that don't. Where is there skin in this game of taxes? Everything is going to far into socializing our lives. You want something then work for it.

Well the rich will always stay rich. I'm more interested to see how politicians become millionaires

Biden will raise taxes on corporations, and in return, corporations will raise prices on their goods and services to make up for the higher taxes Biden is making them pay. Get ready little guy, one way or another, you are going to be paying more. And it won't hurt your feelings to pay more because Biden has you believing that taxes are not being raised on you.

No. Never worked for a poor man. Its going to be pushed down the line.

He said no one making 400,000 and under taxes would not go up. He lied. That's for a married couple. If you own a small business and make 200,000 a year or single and make 200,000 Joe Biden is going to crush you. He has made us weak, because he's weak. He's made this great nation a laughing stalk to the entire world.

At one point the tax rate was 93%, this helped pay for the war the rich instigated. The tax rate since has steadily dropped as the rich has either run for office or bought politicians.

We're about to see the end of the middle class. Full blown socialism coming our way and communism on its heels. It's sad to see so many applauding it.

Needs to be a flat tax. No American owes more than any other American. 20% is 20%, regardless of how much anyone makes. If you make more, you pay more, but same percentage. Simple math.

Higher taxes for companies will be passed to the consumer .

Every penny of those tax increases will fall on the poor and middle class. This tax hike is a horrible idea. This run away government is destroying this country. And estate taxes fall on anyone who inherits anything from their families. Rich or poor. The poor will end up having to sell anything they inherit just to pay the taxes. So all of this will hurt the middle class and poor like tax hikes always do.

They key word is, makes more than$400,000. His presidential salary is $400,000 a year. Since he says, people making more than that meaning his salary doesn't quite make the mark. He should be donating his to the pipeline workers unemployment fund.

Tax The Rich? What a novel idea. Just do it.

I like Joe's plan.

Job killer.
