Generals march past Twins, 14-12

TEXARKANA, Texas - The Texarkana Twins fell to the Victoria Generals on Monday night, 14-12, despite making a late-game surge.

The Twins started off sluggish, giving up 10 runs in the first five innings.

The Twins were able to get the offense going after the next three innings, pulling within two runs of the Generals, 11-9.

By the bottom of the ninth inning, the Generals had added a few runs to their lead, 14-9.

With two outs and down by five runs, Shea Gutierrez started the rally for the Twins with his two RBI single.

Lee Thomas drove Gutierrez home with his RBI single.

JJ Flores drove Ryne Randle home, pulling the Twins within two runs. Flores finished 5 for 6 at the dish with three RBI.

Michael McElemeel ended the night going 3 for 5 at the plate with two RBI.

Unfortunately, a strikeout ended the Twins ninth inning rally.

The Twins are hosting their first ever playoff game on Saturday.
