Nashville puts on show for Senior Night

NASHVILLE, Ark.-Nashville defeated Malvern with ease, 69-10, enforcing the mercy rule, in a Conference 7-4A contest on Senior Night at Scrapper Stadium Friday.

The Scrappers, who had lost two of the last three games, improved to 9-3 in their series with Malvern, and simultaneously clinched a spot in the playoffs in this penultimate game of the regular season.

The clock ran non-stop the second half, but that did not prevent Nashville from adding three more touchdowns and 21 more points.

Jacobe Jefferson scurried 50 yards on the first play of the third quarter for the Scrappers, picking up where they left off in the first half-dominating the field.

Five minutes later Jefferson scored again on the first play of the drive, a 15-yard run, after Nashville was able to block Malvern's punt. Jefferson ended the night with 85 yards rushing on seven carries and three TDs.

Armani Hatchet scored the final touchdown of the game at 8:10 with a 5-yard plunge.

The Scrappers elevated their record to 7-2 (4-2).

Nashville smothered Malvern in the opening half, scoring seven touchdowns with 174 yards on the ground and 128 yards through the air.

Two minutes into the game Keshawn Stewart caught an 18-yard pass from Tristen Jamison to put the Scrappers up 7-0 after Jhonny Pioquinto's kick.

Malvern was able to respond on its following drive with a 30-yard FG by Kevin Cardona.

Nashville answered with a four-play drive that went 55 yards, concluding with a 14-yard hook-up between Dalton Brown and Jamison.

Carmillias Morrison led the Scrapper advance in the first half and ended the game with three touchdowns and 99 yards rushing on eight carries.

The Leopards' only touchdown of the game came at the start of the second quarter when London Florence bolted in from the 3-yard line.

It was Morrison that answered with his second touchdown, this one a 21-yard dash for six points.

Nashville's' last three TDs of the second quarter were all short jolts up the middle. Jacobe Jefferson ran one in from 2 yards out, Morrison ran did the same and Jake Moorer ran 4 yards on the last of the quarter with 0:25 left.

The Scrapper defense held all night and forced the Malvern offense to punt six times and only allowed 3 yards rushing.

Malvern was led by Braxton Allen, who completed eight of 16 passes for 180 yards and had two interceptions.

Christian Warren was Allen's go-to receiver with three receptions for 90 yards.

Jamison and Moorer split quarterback duties for Nashville and combined for 128 yards passing. Jamison had the Scrappers only touchdown pass of the game.

Nashville plays Bauxite next week in the regular season finale.
