REDWATER, Texas — Redwater swept Linden-Kildare, 26-24, 25-14, 25-16, to improve to 5-0 on the young season Tuesday.

Ally Walston served 19 winners for the Lady Dragons, who host the annual Spikers Classic Thursday and Saturday. Sydney Hornbuckle put down 14 kills, Cooper Frachiseur and Ashton Holland contributed 13 assists each, and Karsyn Graf and Kyndal Missildine had five digs apiece.

Redwater's junior varsity A team won, 25-7, 25-8. Campbell Warner served 13 points for the Dragons.

The junior varsity and varsity teams will play Thursday in pool play. The jayvee plays at 8 a.m., 10 and 11 a.m., and the varsity team will look to remain unbeaten with matches at 3, 4 and 7 p.m.


Fruitvale tops Maud in 4

MAUD, Texas — After Maud won the first set, Fruitvale took the next three to avoid a fifth set, 20-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Jadyn Sanders led Maud at the service line. Brynn Sultz had nine kills and a block, and Haley Yates added 13 assists.

Olivia Servin led Fruitvale with 18 points.



PG falls to Hallsville

TEXARKANA, Texas — Fielding a youthful team — featuring 12 freshmen out of 16 players — Pleasant Grove opened the team tennis season with a 19-3 loss to Hallsville.
