GENOA, Ark. - Genoa Central High School is hosting the Dragon Holiday Classic varsity basketball tournament today at 10 a.m.
Eight girls teams and eight boys teams vie for the championship trophy. The tournament features host Genoa Central and two city teams in Arkansas High's girls and Pleasant Grove's boys.
In the girls bracket, the Lady Backs open the tournament against Fouke at 10 a.m., Foreman takes on Gurdon at 1, Dierks clashes with Maumelle at 4 and Genoa Central plays Horatio at 7.
On the boys side, Foreman tangles with Fouke at 11:30 a.m., the Hawks go up against Gurdon at 2:30, Horatio duels Redwater at 5:30 and the host Dragons battle Bloomburg at 8:30.
The semifinals are Saturday starting with the girls side at 4, boys at 5:30, girls at 7 and boys at 8:30.
The winners of the semifinals will play in their respective championship games on Monday with the girls game at 7 p.m. and the boys to follow at 8:30. The girls and boys consolation games are at 1 and 2:30, respectively.
