Leopards zip past Panthers, 27-6

TEXARKANA, Texas - Jaydin Hampton had an 8-yard touchdown run and threw a 6-yard touchdown to Tracy Revels as Liberty-Eylau's freshmen thumped Spring Hill, 27-6, at Harris Field on Thursday.

Hampton also booted a PAT for the Leopards.

Nate Gamble broke free on a 14-yard TD run for Liberty-Eylau, while teammate Marquarious Price had a 25-yard touchdown run.

Jamarius Burris ran in a 2-point conversion for the Leopards.

Wyatt Clepper and Xavier Dangerfield each had an interception for Liberty-Eylau, and Pharrell Thurman was named a defensive standout.

 

Hornets rein in Mustangs

HOOKS, Texas - Quarterback Keyshawn Walls accounted for six touchdowns, including running for five, to help Hooks' eighth grade beat visiting Hughes Springs, 50-28, at Hornet Stadium.

Walls tossed a 50-yard score to Logan Baker and had rushing TDs that covered 65, 45, 35, 10 and 3 yards. Walls also had a pair of 2-point conversions.

Daniel Godfrey added a 50-yard rushing score for the Hornets along with his two 2-point conversions. Jatavious Johnson had an interception for Hooks.

The Hornets also won the seventh grade game, 22-14. Dontravious Coulter ran for three touchdowns, which covered 3, 3 and 60 yards. Coulter also had a pair of 2-point conversions.

Brayden McDonald forced a fumble on defense, and R.J. Parker recovered the fumble for the Hornets.

 

Pirates plunder Eagles

DETROIT, Texas - Braiden Klimaszewski threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Clay David Allen, and James Bowie never looked back in a 48-0 rout of Detroit in a junior high football game.

Ethan Evans added to the Pirates' lead on a 48-yard TD run. Evans also had a 2-point conversion run.

Lane Johnson broke free and rushed 28 yards to paydirt for the Pirates. Luke Dodson made the blowout official on a 38-yard scamper to the end zone.

 

Lions tame Dragons

REDWATER, Texas - New Boston rolled past Redwater, 42-20, in a junior varsity game at Dragon Stadium.

Korbin Singletary had a 1-yard touchdown run for the Dragons and threw a 2-point conversion pass to Dustin Swink.

David McKeever broke free for a 35-yard TD scamper for Redwater, and teammate Colin Narens added an 8-yard touchdown run.

Dontae Thompson raced 70 yards for a touchdown, sprinted 30 yards for another and added a 2-point conversion and fumble recovery to help New Boston top Redwater, 24-16, in an eighth grade football game.

Jordan Harrison also had a 30-yard TD run, and Jonah Sanchez ran for a pair of 2-point conversions for the Lions.

Jaxon Minter had two touchdowns for the Dragons on runs of 39 and 17 yards.

Devan Smith ran in two, 2-point conversions for Redwater.

Devon Walker had a 50-yard scamper for the Lion seventh grade's 28-0 win. Tyner Melton also had a 30-yard TD run, Justin Allen had a 1-yard plunge and Adrian Myrks punched in a score from the 2.

Jamarian Jackson rushed for two 2-point conversions for New Boston, which got three fumble recoveries from Tristian Stovall, Jamar Smith and Corbin Stewart.

 

Volleyball

AHS frosh sweep Cardinals

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Makayla Dodd slapped in 12 service points to lead Arkansas High's freshmen to a 25-11, 25-18 sweep over Camden Fairview.

Seaira Watson had nine service points, four kills and a pair of blocks for the Lady Backs.

Ainsley Richardson rifled in 27 service points as North Heights demolished the Lady Cardinals' eighth grade, 25-11, 25-4.

Chrinasia Solomon had seven service points for the Lady Backs.

 

Lady Hornets sweep Paul Pewitt

HOOKS, Texas - Lilyan Birthright served in 11 points to lead Hooks' eighth grade A team to a 25-18, 25-16 sweep over Paul Pewitt.

Alee Winniford contributed 10 service points for the Lady Hornets.

Ashtyn Boyd paced the Lady Brahmas with seven points.

Addison Stewart fired in 10 points as Hooks won the seventh grade A match, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24.

Taliyah Brown had a match-high 13 points for Paul Pewitt.

 

Lady Tigers' 8th A sweeps

TEXARKANA, Texas - Cy Hopkins slapped in 16 service points as Texas Middle School's eighth grade A team swept Sulphur Springs, 25-10, 25-12, at the Tiger Center.

Abigale Shults had 13 service points for the Lady Tigers' seventh grade A squad, but the Wildcats outlasted TMS, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20.
